Harley Springer Softail Rake Kit

After the Rake kit was installed it made a BIG difference in the bikes handling and cornering turns. Installed on my 1997 FLSTS Heritage Springer. with a side car.

Advantages: Having the rake kit installed made the Springer ride smoother with making left or right turns....

Installed to a 91 FXSTS and the difference is amazing. A lot lighter on the bars and a more compliant ride over the bombing range that is called Australian roads. Very easy kit to install, I drilled out the original stem (no access to a machine shop to press it out) in 3 steps using a 23 mm drill as the last hole. It was harder to replace the steering head bearings than replace the stem, really it is that simple. Very well made kit.

Advantages: 4 degrees of rake makes for lighter bars, better over imperfections in the road with no real change in ground clearance

Disadvantages: None really. I does state that you can not use the steering lock, but as the original is only designed to keep honest thieves away, I tack welded a couple of high tensile washers to the original piece of the steering lock and use a slightly longer shanked pad lock.

I installed the rake kit, and I must say, my 2006 fxstsi steers and turns with much more confidence.

Advantages: Handles great, view of bike from the front looks badass.

Disadvantages: None so far, I’ve had it on my bike for over 7 years now.

I installed this on my 48 Pan,the front end was off a 08 bones,it went on perfect,the next one will fix my 94 springer,it has bugged me since 94.thanks for this great product,priced right

install on 07 springer. WOW little more work than expected. Getting old stem out 20,000# and still needed a good wack with a hammer. Gound about 1/4 inch off upper tree to fit. Quicker steering. Massive speed wobble after but new front tire and its OK now?? Kept my dust shields just make should they are centered! and not touching! lock to lock! Check them 3 times its easy for them to more a little bit and touch later.

Advantages: Looks great like the front should. Very low watch the bumps and corners until you adapt.

Disadvantages: would have paid more for better machining. Better bottom bolt.

Installed on my 1998 FXSTS. Had to replace the steering shaft due to excessive wear. Installed this kit, needed some help which resolved any problem with one phone call to Vulcan.
The new rake looks terrific, and has improved the ride and handling of my bike. Thank you Vulcan.

Advantages: Easy to install, better handling, fairly priced.

Disadvantages: None

Installed on a 91 fxsts that we trike out with a DNA rear axle the bike performed well and push pull steering is effortless.
